Role: Customer Support Technician

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Customer Support Technician to join a growing solar energy technology team focused on delivering exceptional service and product support. This individual will assist in supporting and maintaining advanced solar mounting and tracking systems. The role involves working closely with engineering, business development, suppliers, and customers to troubleshoot, validate, and improve the performance of electrical and electronic system components. Occasional travel to customer sites will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for field service engineers and customers at existing solar project sites.
Assist in validating tracker control systems during testing; set up test benches, collect performance data, and create analysis reports.
Develop training materials to support internal operations and field teams.
Collaborate with customers to assist with ongoing maintenance and performance improvements of solar equipment.
Support field deployment efforts and offer sustaining technical support for installed systems.
Interface with third-party tools, software, and suppliers to resolve hardware or system-level issues.
Participate in testing and evaluating new feature releases for tracking systems.
Monitor system performance remotely and help maximize site uptime.
Work directly with suppliers to resolve performance and specification issues.
Engage regularly with customers to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Electronics Technology or a related field.
1–3 years of industrial or technical support experience.
Strong background in troubleshooting and testing electronic or control systems.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical tasks.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
Professional references required.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with solar tracking systems.
Experience specifying and evaluating electronic or mechanical components.
Knowledge of quality assurance or reliability engineering principles.
Experience collaborating with vendors or suppliers in a technical capacity.
