They are seeking a skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join their team remotely and lead the design, analysis, and optimization of utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage projects. In this role, you will be responsible for producing and reviewing technical designs, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle. Your expertise with AutoCAD, Pvsyst, ETAP, and SAM will be critical in delivering accurate, efficient, and high-quality designs on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate should have the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license
4+ years of experience working on utility-scale solar or BESS projects
Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, Pvsyst, ETAP, and SAM for system design, energy modeling, and electrical analysis
Experience creating single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and detailed equipment layouts
Strong understanding of NEC, IEEE, IEC, NFPA, and UL standards
Proven ability to perform load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash studies
Experience designing collection systems, inverter configurations, and interconnection facilities for high-voltage grid integration
Skilled in cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, grounding, and protection coordination studies
Ability to review and approve vendor drawings, technical submittals, and equipment specifications
Strong ability to coordinate with internal teams and 3rd party contractors/vendors
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
