Job Title: Transmission Specialist

The Transmission Specialist will support transmission planning and operations by managing data, analyzing system flows, and coordinating interconnection queues. You will leverage both quantitative skills and coding abilities to optimize processes, support decision-making, and help the team execute projects efficiently. The position provides exposure to both technical and policy-related aspects of transmission systems, making it a great opportunity for someone looking to blend analytical rigor with practical project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze transmission system flows and provide quantitative insights for planning and operations

  • Manage interconnection queues and track project progress using Oasis and other analytics tools

  • Develop, maintain, and automate tools and scripts to improve workflows and reporting

  • Support team efforts in policy, regulatory, and advocacy initiatives related to transmission

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project execution and strategy

  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders

Required Skills:

  • Strong quantitative background and analytical skills, including flow calculations and data modeling

  • Experience with Oasis, analytics, and queue management

  • Coding skills for managing software tools, APIs, and automation (Python, SQL, or similar)

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Preferred / Soft Skills:

  • Experience in policy, advocacy, or regulatory processes

  • Ability to manage projects independently in a small, flat team environment

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
