Solar Construction Manager

We are seeking a Construction Manager to oversee and drive the success of commercial and industrial solar projects. This role is ideal for a results-oriented leader with experience in mechanical, electrical, and HVAC construction who thrives managing teams, budgets, and operations to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.


As Construction Manager, you will lead technical staff, coordinate contractors, manage operations, and ensure that solar projects are executed to the highest quality and safety standards. This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic oversight with day-to-day project management and team development, directly impacting the clean energy transition.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of technical employees, ensuring a skilled, disciplined, and safety-focused workforce.

  • Manage all aspects of commercial and industrial solar project construction, including scheduled maintenance, project execution, and subcontractor oversight.

  • Prepare financial forecasts, monitor operational expenses, and ensure projects meet contractual and organizational goals.

  • Evaluate project performance, identify improvements, and implement best practices for operational efficiency.

  • Coordinate the purchase, inventory, and maintenance of supplies, equipment, and services for solar projects.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders during solar project execution, expansions, or renovations.

  • Maintain detailed records, reports, and procedures to ensure effective management and accountability.

  • Develop and deliver training programs to support team development and operational excellence.

  • Ensure site and facility upkeep, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and safety systems.

  • Implement and maintain a strong safety culture across all operations.

  • Plan, organize, and direct all project activities, resolving complex issues and providing solutions for stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience managing mechanical, electrical, or solar construction projects.

  • Experience in preparing scopes of work, scheduling, and coordinating contractors and teams.

  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance schedules, operations, and customer requirements.

  • Proficient with Windows and MS Office applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Skilled in leading teams and organizing work across multiple projects.

  • Able to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and make informed decisions.

  • Must be able to walk throughout large facilities, climb stairs, and access catwalks.
