Senior Engineer – Solar + Energy Storage | Full-Time | Remote/Hybrid

We’re seeking aSenior Engineerto lead design and engineering efforts for solar, battery storage, and microgrid systems across the U.S. This role offers the chance to shape the clean energy transition through technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and engineering excellence.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Engineer, you’ll oversee project engineering from initial concept through commissioning. You'll be a key interface between internal teams, clients, contractors, and project managers—providing both strategic oversight and hands-on engineering expertise. Your work will span 10–12 projects simultaneously, each at different stages and in diverse locations.
This is a high-velocity, high-ownership role where adaptability and communication are crucial. You’ll also conduct final design reviews prior to PE stamping, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the refinement of internal engineering standards and tools.
Core Responsibilities
Guide and review design drawings, energy models, and engineering analysis
Perform or oversee PV, battery, and microgrid system analysis, including load studies, ampacity studies, and NEC compliance
Coordinate and delegate tasks within the engineering team, ensuring quality and efficiency
Conduct site assessments, inspections, and commissioning report development
Engage directly with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with project goals
Lead AutoCAD design workflows and integrate design outputs from tools like PVSyst, Helioscope, HOMER, and PVcase
Support equipment research and procurement for key components
Ensure all work meets applicable codes and internal standards prior to Professional Engineer certification
Travel as needed: local (weekly), national (monthly), and international (annually)
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (5-10+ years of relevant industry experience)
Active Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer license
Proven experience managing engineering teams and multi-disciplinary projects
Deep knowledge of PV, battery storage, microgrid systems, and relevant energy concepts
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel/Word, and PV design software (e.g., PVSyst, HOMER, Helioscope)
Strong understanding of NEC and electrical design for DC, AC, and MV systems
Attention to detail, proactive mindset, and a passion for high-quality execution
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions
Preferred:
NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification
Familiarity with NFPA codes and OSHA-10 certification
Experience with international project standards and execution
