Civil Engineer – Renewables Focused

My client, a leading developer in the renewable energy space, is seeking a talentedCivil Engineerto join their growing teamon-site in the Houston area. In this role, you’ll be a vital technical leader responsible for shaping the physical foundations of large-scale solar and wind projects—from transforming raw site conditions into optimized designs to guiding projects through permitting, procurement, and construction.
This isn’t a remote or purely office-based position. You’ll work hands-on with cross-functional teams, engage directly with construction activities, and see your designs come to lifeon the ground where the projects happen. 🔑What You’ll Do
Concept & Design
Turn site evaluations into practical, buildable designs—grading, access roads, and drainage systems.
Develop early-stage documentation and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support project planning.
Detailed Engineering
Review and approve 30/60/90/IFC engineering packages.
Coordinate with Engineers of Record (EoRs) on drawings, calculations, and permitting.
Manage RFIs and submittals to keep deliverables aligned with project objectives.
Procurement & Vendor Support
Assess civil-related vendor proposals and make performance- and cost-optimized recommendations.
Stay up to date on new technologies, materials, and engineering innovations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Estimating, Procurement, and Construction teams.
Represent civil engineering in project and client meetings.
Provide hands-on, on-site technical guidance during construction.
Compliance & Innovation
Ensure designs meet all local, state, and federal codes and standards.
Align work with IMS/QHSE policies and help refine internal workflows and tools.
🎯What We’re Looking For
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
2+ years of experience in infrastructure or renewable energy
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work
on-site in Houston, TX
Preferred (but not required):
Familiarity with Procore and PVcase
Professional Engineer (PE) license
