An established and rapidly growing organization within the renewable energy and infrastructure sector is seeking a strategic and proactive Human Resources Representative to lead HR operations during a major organizational expansion. This individual will play a vital role in developing and implementing HR infrastructure, policies, compensation structures, and recruitment strategies from the ground up. The role requires a hands-on professional capable of operating independently while collaborating across all departments.
About the Role
The Human Resources (HR) Representative will be responsible for leading HR operations and ensuring the development of effective HR policies and practices.
Responsibilities
HR Infrastructure & Policy Development
Design and implement HR policies, procedures, and compliance strategies.
Ensure alignment with all applicable state and federal labor regulations.
Prepare employment agreements, offer letters, and termination protocols.
Develop onboarding processes for contractors and full-time staff.
Compensation & Salary Structure
Create job classifications and salary bands across the organization.
Conduct industry-specific benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation.
Recommend incentive structures such as performance-based or profit-sharing models.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts across all functions (executive, technical, operational).
Build talent pipelines through a mix of platforms, networks, and sourcing strategies.
Implement standardized onboarding programs for new hires.
Organizational Development
Support leadership in redesigning the organizational structure to support growth.
Conduct skills gap analyses and assist in building career development pathways.
Facilitate initiatives to enhance company culture and employee engagement.
HR Administration & Systems
Implement and manage a centralized HRIS system.
Maintain confidential employee records and oversee benefits, PTO, and payroll coordination.
Serve as the primary internal resource for HR-related matters.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of HR generalist experience, ideally in technical or field-service-based industries.
Demonstrated experience developing HR systems, structures, and programs from scratch.
Strong understanding of employment law and HR compliance (especially California-specific).
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with at least one HRIS system.
Preferred:
SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
Experience supporting growth-stage or operationally complex companies.
Collaborative Requirements
This role will require cross-functional coordination with:
Legal resources for policy and employment documentation.
Finance and operations leadership for budgeting and compensation alignment.
Departmental leaders for defining hiring needs and technical requirements.
External consultants (e.g., benefits brokers, employment law advisors) as needed.
