Development Engineerto drive the technical strategy and design of their rapidly expanding pipeline.
In this high-impact role, you’ll collaborate across development, engineering, and finance teams to advance projects from concept through construction, directly supporting the deployment of cutting-edge solar and energy storage solutions.
What You’ll Do
🔍 Project & Site Development
Evaluate project sites for feasibility, including preliminary system layouts, interconnection assessments, and technical due diligence.
Conduct site visits, analyze constraints, and propose creative solutions to optimize system design and economics.
📊 System Design & Optimization
Prepare conceptual and preliminary designs for commercial and industrial-scale solar PV and battery storage systems.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop energy models, yield assessments, and equipment selections that meet financial targets.
📝 Technical Documentation & Approvals
Support the preparation of permit and interconnection applications, coordinating closely with utilities and AHJs.
Develop technical scopes of work and assist in reviewing EPC bids and contracts.
🤝 Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work hand-in-hand with project developers, construction teams, and asset managers to transition projects from origination through COD.
Interface with external stakeholders including landowners, utilities, and engineering partners.
🚀 Continuous Improvement
Stay current on industry trends, equipment advancements, and evolving code requirements to ensure project designs remain best-in-class.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent technical experience.
3-5 years of experience in solar PV and/or energy storage design, engineering, or development.
Proficiency with Helioscope, AutoCAD, PVsyst, or similar design tools.
Strong understanding of NEC, interconnection processes, and permitting requirements for commercial-scale systems.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Passion for renewable energy and driving the clean energy transition.
