Role: Estimating Manager

Location: Houston, TX

Salary Range: $170,000 – $200,000

With a track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects across the U.S., this company is dedicated to driving the transition toward clean, sustainable energy. Their Houston office continues to grow as they expand their pipeline of projects, offering a strong foundation for long-term career development in one of the most dynamic sectors of the energy industry.


They are now seeking a talented Estimating Manager to take ownership of the estimating process for Utility-scale solar projects. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing RFPs, technical documents, and site conditions to develop precise scope and pricing strategies that set projects up for success. You will oversee the full estimating lifecycle, from initial review to final submission, working closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure proposals are accurate, competitive, and fully aligned with client and project requirements. This position is well-suited for a detail-oriented professional with 3+ years of Utility-scale solar experience who can thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • 3+ years of experience working on Utility-scale solar projects

  • Ability to analyze RFPs, technical drawings, and site conditions to build accurate pricing models

  • Strong background in managing the full estimating lifecycle, from bid strategy to proposal submission

  • Proficiency in interpreting civil, structural, and electrical drawings for cost development

  • Experience developing quantity take-offs, unit pricing, and subcontractor/vendor bid comparisons

  • Knowledge of solar-specific construction methods, including pile driving, racking systems, and DC/AC electrical installation

  • Familiarity with cost databases, estimating software, and Excel-based cost models

  • Proven ability to prepare comprehensive estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted scopes

  • Skilled at identifying project risks, constructability issues, and cost-saving opportunities during pre-construction

  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate across engineering, procurement, and project management teams
