Role: Project Engineer

Location: Kansas City Metro

Salary Range: $100,000 – $130,000

Renewyx is partnering with a forward-thinking solar EPC headquartered in Kansas City that’s rapidly scaling across the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) space. With a strong reputation for quality design and field execution, they’re known for bridging the gap between engineering and construction to deliver efficient, cost-effective solar solutions to clients nationwide.

They’re now looking for a Field & Design Engineer to join their team in Kansas City. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with 2–4 years of experience in Commercial solar projects, who enjoys both fieldwork and design. You’ll be responsible for reviewing site plans, identifying issues during construction, and ensuring the technical accuracy of drawings using AutoCAD. A solid understanding of construction practices and a keen eye for detail in the field are key to success in this role.

This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a collaborative, agile team that values technical curiosity and cross-functional problem-solving. You’ll gain experience on active job sites, work closely with project managers and construction teams, and sharpen both your design and field engineering skills in a fast-growing sector.

The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • 2+ years of experience in Commercial rooftop or ground-mount solar PV projects

  • Proficient in AutoCAD for generating and modifying single-line diagrams, site layouts, and electrical drawings

  • Experience reviewing construction documents (civil, structural, electrical) and identifying potential conflicts or errors

  • Familiarity with NEC codes and standards related to PV system installation

  • Comfortable conducting field walks, site assessments, and QA/QC inspections during construction

  • Ability to read and interpret civil site plans, electrical schematics, and structural drawings

  • Experience with permitting sets, as-builts, and construction documentation preferred

  • Engineering degree preferred

If this is an opportunity you have interest in, then please apply to avoid disappointment.
